Hi, we are newbies to the UAV world! We are purchasing a Gaui 330 X S quadcopter with uprated legs with 3 axis camera mount for probably the GoPro Hero 2. I live in the Shepton Mallet in Somerset, and my colleague lives in Chobham in Surrey. Anyone of these areas would be fine for someone who is willing to instruct us, or has a Gaui unit they are willing to show us how to fly? Many thanks

Personally I would go for the Gaui 550x - Started with the 330x S upgraded it to the 550x and have never looked back.
It has been crashed (from great heights) and bashed, Its one tough Quad.
Cheers and good luck...

Hi Lifter

Many thanks for your reply.

We could seriously consider the the 500 RTF but we would need some advise on durable legs and camera mount. We had it all sorted really for the 330X S but its a slight re-think. I will link in this youtube link we shows something we are after. What do you use on the bottom of the 500 and why have you never looked back with this unit? Many thanks

For the landing legs I used 4 of these http://www.multiwiicopter.com/products/landing-gear-quadcopter-carbon-150x85h ...
To fit the FPV cam or GoPro Tx and battery onto http://www.multiwiicopter.com/products/lipo-tray-175x65mm-carbon-f
I am still using the original 10amp speedies and the scorpion 1050 kv motors that come with the 330s X and the 8" props.
I replaced the original heat shrink wrap on the speedies and cut away some shrink to allow better cooling after the original shrink failed and shorted inside the boom due to heat = crash x twice.
I never looked back with this Quad because it just keeps going - despite its crashes. Have only replaced 1 motor and bent 1 arm which was repairable but I replaced it with a spare.
The 330 was pretty erratic (for me anyway) specially when descending rapidly it was hard to control - as others have noted.
Today I would probably just buy the 550 frame and fit it out with Naza DJI system with the rest of the gear of your choice.
You would have to use the original 330 or 500 Gaui speedies if you wanted them out of the way inside the booms as I don't think any others would fit ??
Cheers
