MultiWii / NAZE / SP Racing F3 Clone or the real deal?

Thinking of going with APM 2.6 or pixhawk for my multi rotor build. How can I tell if the system is a china knockoff clone, and I get the real deal?

Well order from 3dr and you have the real one, go to RC timer and you get a good alternative (APM).
I'd steer away from the Hobbyking and other clones which often have cheaper parts build in.

ardu flyer, uses the same programming? I really am trying to utilize "follow me" modes. Which is why i have been drawn to the pixhawk and apm's. RC timer and pixhawk, ADM all use the same programing? I guess being opensource that doesnt surprise me. Just obviously different firmwares.

This is my first build. I just wish to outgrow the frame only. IF that.
