DJI F550 with RC Timer 800 Arms - now flies like a dog!

Hi all,

I'm fairly new to the scene and got myself a F550, NAZA M Lite GPS and I'm flying a Sony NEX5n on a Grouse House Technologies gimbal underneath.

It's going well, but there is some downdraft issues with the small frame, so I decided to buy the RC Timer 800 arms for it - to get the downdraft away from the gimbal.

This mod seems fairly straight forward and I think I'll need new motors and props in time.

However, all the test flights since the mod have resulted in a crash. The Hex is almost uncontrollable. I checked time and time again the motor rotations, NAZA software settings and I was pulling what's left of my hair out.

But today, I spotted the problem. Couldn't believe it!

I'd put the GPS module on back to front!! Such a school boy error.

Now it flies like it should. Thank goodness.

Want to see the crashes? Course you do... https://vimeo.com/90426279

When it does work, I can make stuff like this https://vimeo.com/89356339

The moral of this story? Don't fly with your GPS module 180 degrees away from the correct orientation! Doh!

I'm curious about the frame size thing. They would recommended the expensive Wookong, though, wouldn't they? But how does M V2 work with larger frame sizes? I suspect they all have the same base algorithm with the V2 having tweaks and enhancements.
