help with battery testers

Ive got one of these battery testers and what I have found when I'm flying my hex is that when I land and the tester tells me there's 20% left, I obviously change the battery. but when I get home I test the same battery again, the tester always reads around 35 -45%. Can someone explain whats going on, I understand the battery may recover a bit after use but I thought the tester is measuring the capacity of the battery in terms of percentage and although the voltage might recover I wouldn't have thought the capicity would. I think I might be getting a bit confused. Can one of you experts out there help me out with this

Look at the EOS Sentry by Hyperion. You can check the voltage, capacity and balance. I like it!

I am guessing here.... your device has a wattmeter function.... if that is used it will show the product of the volts x current.... and the volts tends to creep back up after the batteries are removed from the electrical load. Also the battery electrochemistry is affected by temperature.... once they cool down you will get a different, i.e., higher reading. I would trust the meter on this one and do not fly the used batteries before a recharge.
