Looking for Recommendation:

I currently have an XA 650 frame that I have converted over to NAZA-M w/GPS. I have changed everything to include the ESC's and the Motors.

I am having a heck of a time keeping this setup from draining my battery rapidly. I am thinking it is the AKE ESC's and motors I upgraded to.

Can anyone recommend a good set of ESC's and motors that aren't too complicated that will work great with NAZA-M electronics in this configuration?

My Setup:

XAircraft X650 V2 Frame
NAZA-M Controller and GPS
Dragon 5850mAh 15c 3S Battery
Propellors: tried both 8" and 10" Carbon Fiber Gelfan 4.5 props
Motor: AKE Quad Dancer 1200
ESC: AKE 12a ESC

Total Weight with (Gimbal, FPV Transmitter and Battery) approximately 1850grams.

Should I go to a 6S battery config. and if so, what ESC's and Motors?

I have been waiting for about 3 months now to work with the FPV system, but can't until I get this battery drain issue worked out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your "draining" might be related to:

ESC with 12A is much too low....you need at least 20A, better would be 30A

LiPo batteries should have a minimum fo 20C ~ 25C

Your motors are layed out for 3S max....to be more efficient with your weight I would go for 4S + matching motor.

There is millions of possible combinations, one of them would be:

Tiger Motor MN3110-17 (700 KV)

any 30 A ESC (best with SimonK Firmware)

4S LiPo with min. 25C....

Props ideal for this combo: 10 x 4.5

This would give you approx. 13 - 15 minutes flight-time....

As I said, there are a lot of othere possibilities.....you also have to consider matching motor-mounting holes ect...

Here is a little online-software which might help you: http://www.ecalc.ch/xcoptercalc.htm?ecalc&lang=en

But first read the help-file to get any idea how things work there: http://www.ecalc.ch/calcinclude/help/xcoptercalchelp.htm
