Sounds awesome.
But I'm waiting for the "but they instantly give you brain cancer" statement to follow all the awesomeness.

That would be totally awesome, sounds a bit like the Zephyr battery on the Tom Cruise movie Knight and Day.

Do any of you remember the story about the guys who accidentally made a battery from that carbon mono-tube liquid they cured using a DVD player? I was trying to find that article. was pretty recent. Interesting things coming in battery tech. They said it holds 2x as much ad charges 1000x quicker yet weighs the same or lighter and had no memory.

Will be great for us, and fantastic for full size electric cars whose main problem at the moment is a 12 hour recharge time

Pretty sure you are talking about graphene. I think that the most promise comes from lithium air batteries- which are probably 10 years down the line for consumers. Maybe more. The theoretical energy density is 10-15x that of lipos.
