Indian’s picture Trevor Bauer explains how he sliced his finger with a drone
You may have heard how Trevor Bauer was supposed to start for the Indians in ALCS Game 2 but didn’t, because he, uh, cut his finger while fixing his drone. Yeah … Terry Francona doesn’t really know, either.
Anyway, Cleveland won Game 2, 2-1, thanks to Josh Tomlin and Francisco Lindor and Bauer, after getting some stitches, is scheduled to start Game 3 in Toronto on Monday (8 p.m. ET on TBS/Sportsnet/RDS). Meanwhile, the Indians had a workout on Sunday afternoon and Bauer, predicting that reporters (and all baseball fans everywhere) might have some questions, came to his news conference prepared.
“I brought my friend to answer any questions about what happened that I can’t answer,” he said.
He also explained how he sliced his finger. It sounds like it could happen to anyone, honestly:
Besides, this wasn’t the first time Bauer had a little trouble with his drone.
Other highlights from Bauer and his drone’s news conferenceincluded an explanation of how Star Wars inspired his love of flying drones:
Why “The Phantom Menace” is his favorite Stars Wars movie:
And a description of his “fleet,” which features 8-10 drones, although “usually about one or two of them are actually working:”
Oh, and he’s totally ready for Game 3.
